Alice Mae Mclaughlin

McLAUGHLIN, Alice Mae Blackburn – Is now experiencing the fullness of JOY as she realizes the truth of the statement that “to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” Alice left our world, suddenly on March 21, 2013. Her children and their spouses were present for her last moments. She is survived by her son Bruce Kathi McLaughlin, and her daughter Terri McLaughlin Steve Baker, as well as, her grandchildren Wesley, Allison, and Nathan. Alice was born 92 years ago in Bowling Green, FL, to the late William and Pearl Crews Blackburn. She was preceded by siblings Carmen Blackburn Metheny, and William Herbert Blackburn, and leaves Edith Modena Blackburn Arold, of Franklin, NC. Numerous beloved nieces and nephews also survive her. She worked nearly 40 years for National/Pan-American Airlines. Alice often marveled at how a poor farmer’s daughter was able to travel the world. A Celebration of Life is planned at Victory Baptist Church in Mt. Juliet, TN. She loved volunteering with missionaries to the Haitian community. Donations of remembrance in her name may be sent to: L’INSTITUT BIBLIQUE LOGO 7855 SW 104th Street Suite 210 Miami, FL 33156. If you can’t make it to the service, please wear her favorite color – blue – on April 4th, 2013, and tell someone your favorite Alice story.
