Anne Jackson Buttrick Crumpler was born October 25, 1952 in Dunkirk, New York. She was the only child of Betty and David Buttrick.
Anne went to college in Wooster, Ohio, and then finished her degree at Chatham College in Pittsburgh. She went for advanced studies to Louisville Theological Seminary, where she met her husband, the Rev. David Paul Crumpler. They were married during their last year in seminary. Their union produced two children, Rachel and Benjamin. Anne worked as an editor for The United Methodist Publishing House and The Upper Room.
Anne died in the early morning on December 7. A service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, December 10, at Brookmeade Congregational Church. Brookmeade is located on 700 Bresslyn Road, Nashville, TN 37205. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Heifer International, Habitat for Humanity, or another non-profit of your choosing.
