Billie June Simmons

Billie June Simmons 84, of Thompson’s Station, TN, passed away Sunday, December 4, 2022.

Billie was born in DeRidder, Louisiana on June 12, 1938, to the late Earl Gill and Mary Johnson Gill.

She graduated from Beaumont High School in 1956 and married Marvin Dean Simmons in 1957. They lived in several states during the start of his long career with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, until 1966 when they made Tennessee their home. Marvin and Billie shared 36 wonderful years together, until his sudden passing in 1993. He was the love of her life and she never remarried.

Known as Memaw by all those who loved her, she was the matriarch of the Simmons family and will be deeply missed. She loved the Lord, sewing, music, making meals for her family, and her dogs.

In addition to her parents, Billie is preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Simmons, and her sister Melba Bradford.

She is survived by her sons, Mark (Laura) Simmons, Mike (Shelley) Simmons, and Matt (Cheryl) Simmons; grandchildren: Meagen (Larry) Green, Kelsey (Patrick) Cassidy, Casey Simmons, Joseph Simmons, and Hannah Simmons; 9 great-grandchildren; sister: Lynda (Mike) Zuckero; and other extended family in Texas.

A graveside service will be held at Williamson Memorial Gardens in Franklin, TN on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at 10:00 AM.
