Carol Ann Parker, age 61 of Murfreesboro and formerly of Utica, NY, passed away October 22, 2012 with her family by her side. Carol was born April 8, 1951 in Utica, NY, and she was the daughter of the late John and Matilda Morrison. She attended Utica Schools. She married Lee Parker in 1972 before separating. As a single mom of six children, Carol went to school while working full time, striving to better the lives of her children. In 1988, she earned a NYS LPN, then started working at St. Josephs Nursing Home for the next 14 ½ years. In 2005 she moved to Murfreesboro and continued being a blessing to others as she carried on with her nursing profession. Carol was full of love and passion showing it to all of her residents, children, and grandchildren. Carol is survived by her daughter, Victoria Deuel and husband Robb of Murfreesboro, TN, daughter Dawn Parker of Utica, NY, son Kristopher Parker and wife JoAnna of Remsen, NY, son Samuel Parker and wife Mickey of LaVergne, TN, daughter Kelly Parker of Utica, NY, and daughter Shavon Donlyuk and husband Troy of Utica, NY. She also leaves behind her grandchildren who she loved unconditionally: Sean, Karlie, Carissa, Gabriel, Jordan, Dakota, Steven, Katlain, Nicolas, Julia, and Cameron. She also leaves behind her siblings, Christine Simons, Mary Harrison, Eugene Morrison, Donna Parent, John Morrison, Gordon Morrison, Wayne Morrison, James Morrison, and Norma Morrison. In addition, she leaves behind other children, Genevieve Myers, Joseph VanHorn, and PJ VanHorn Lantern all of Utica, NY. She is preceded in death by her brothers, Nicholas Morrison, Kenneth Morrison, sister Jean Calicchia and granddaughter Kayla Parker. Carol’s family wishes to thank her Caris Hospice team for the compassion and comfort they provided to her and her family. Her family will conduct a private celebration of life.
