Charles Elliott Bingham, 79, of Stantonville, TN, passed away on March 19, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on December 26, 1944, in Milledgeville, TN. He was united in marriage to Donna Sue Milford on July 20, 1963. Charles, known for his sense of humor and dry wit, was a dedicated cable repair technician at Bell South Telephone for over 25 years, and he distinguished himself in service to his country as an Army Communications Specialist in Vietnam for 2 years, where he also earned several recognitions and medals, like the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 2 bronze stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal with 1960 Device, 2 Over Seas Service Bars, and Expert Rifleman.
He was a proud member of Mount Vinson Methodist Church and had a passion for his faith. Charles was a graduate of Adamsville High School class of 1962 and furthered his education at Freed Hardeman College. He was a 32nd degree Mason.
In his free time, Charles enjoyed various hobbies including working on his farm, hunting, fishing, golfing, spending time with friends, and traveling with his wife of 55 years, Donna. His love for his community and country was evident through his support for the Wounded Warriors Project, St. Jude Children's Hospital, and various other charities.
Charles is survived by his son, Charles "Chip" Bingham (Melissa) of Stantonville, TN, daughter Robin Bingham Barnes of Stantonville, TN, brother Joe Bingham (Metha) of Henderson, TN, sister Judy Bingham May (Jack) of Savannah, TN, granddaughter Victoria Bingham of Honolulu, HI, grandson Calvin Bingham of Stantonville, TN, and grandson Hayden Koons of Savannah, TN, as well as many nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence E. "Preacher" Bingham, mother Allie Marie Cash Bingham Willis, wife Donna Milford Bingham, and stepfather Paul Willis.
