Daniel Jay Tobey, 74, of Buckley, Michigan, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2024, at Maury Regional Medical Center. Born on June 19, 1950, in Sterling Heights, Michigan, he was the beloved son of Norma and Frank Tobey and the youngest of three brothers.
Daniel proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1969 to 1973, stationed aboard the USS Coral Sea during Vietnam. A man of steadfast faith, he was of the Catholic faith.
He cherished time spent in the great outdoors, especially deer hunting and fishing, and was a dedicated fan of Michigan’s sports teams—the Detroit Lions, Red Wings, and Tigers.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Norma and Frank, and his older brothers, David and Frank Jr. Daniel’s memory will be cherished by his loving family, friends, and all who had the honor of sharing his life. He is survived by his wife Kimberly Tobey, his four children: Susan (Michael) Hicks, Tiffany (David) Odom, Jonathon (Tiffany) Tobey, and Joseph Tobey. He was a proud and loving grandfather to his five grandchildren: Logan and Donovan Hicks, Bo, Shianne, and Billiejean Odom.
