Deborah Peterson

Deborah Peterson, affectionately known as “Debbie,” passed away on February 4, 2024, at Maury Regional Medical Center. She was born on December 1, 1952, in Springfield, Illinois, to the late Louis Germann and Opal Fawns Germann.

Debbie’s life was one marked by love, dedication, and a profound connection to her family and friends. In 1992, she embarked on a new chapter of her life, moving to Tennessee with her ex-husband, James Peterson Sr.,  as they ventured with the Saturn Plant. Prior to her retirement, she dedicated 12 years of service to King’s Daughters, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and commitment.

Among her many passions, Debbie found immense joy in spending time with her cherished family, especially her grandchildren, who held a special place in her heart. She embraced life’s adventures, traveling to destinations such as San Francisco and Florida, creating memories that will be cherished by those who knew her.

Debbie had a nurturing spirit and a heart filled with love. She found happiness in simple pleasures, enjoying game shows, westerns, and crime dramas in her leisure time. Her caring nature extended beyond her immediate family, touching the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Debbie is preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Opal Germann, as well as WD Dawson and James Cotton. She is survived by her devoted sons, James Peterson, Jr. (Meghan) and Joshua Peterson, her siblings Louis Germann and James Germann, and her sister-in-law Brenda Germann. Additionally, she leaves behind her beloved grandchildren: Caitlin Peterson, Pine Kimery, Alexander Peterson, and Quinn Peterson.

In the hearts of those who loved her, Debbie’s memory will live on as a beacon of warmth, kindness, and unwavering love. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm to 8:00 PM at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia, Tennessee on Friday, February 9, 2024.
