Doris Mae Gretzinger

Born in Miami Beach, FL on Oct. 6, 1936
Departed on Aug. 5, 2012 and resided in Eagleville, TN. Doris Mae Jacobs Gretzinger, a 75-year-old “grandmother extraordinaire,” and resident of Eagleville passed away August 5, 2012 surrounded by the people she held closest to her heart. Mimi, as she was affectionately known by all, was born October 6, 1936 to the late Dorothy and George Jacobs in Miami Beach, Florida. She was the wife of David Gretzinger Papa. After spending the greatest amount of her life in Central Florida, Mimi and Papa retired in the small town of Eagleville, TN. There, in her home, all were welcomed and in their home, everyone was family. She so loved attending many games and events of her beloved grandchildren, for which she was very proud. Her greatest joy came with traveling with her husband. Throughout the country, from one end to the other, she searched and explored all their world for the perfect knick-knack. Family members will always remember her thirst for adventure and her bounty of treasures.
Now that she has begun a new adventure, we can all rejoice and savor the memories of the best wife, mother, grandmother and friend one could ask for and receive. In addition to her husband David, she leaves behind her children to share memories of a life well lived: Richard E. Flora Kavanaugh of Seattle, WA, Kenneth G. Cindy Kavanaugh of New Smyrna Beach, FL, Michael J. Pam Kavanaugh of Franklin, TN, DeAnn Kavanaugh-Sheldon of Longwood, FL, Betty S. Guthardt of Deltona, FL; step children: Michael Gretzinger of Malden, MA, David Gretzinger and Douglas Gretzinger both of Winter Park, FL; and her most prized possession: 13 grandchildren. The family request they be contacted for service information.
