Dorothy Jean Alexander Higgins

Dorothy Jean “Dot” Alexander Higgins, age 78, of Shelbyville, passed away on Friday, February 28, at Carriage House Inn in Shelbyville. Dot was born December 2, 1935 in Shelbyville, the daughter of the late Harry E. and Ollie Pittman Alexander. She was the wife of 26 years of the late Charles D. Higgins, Sr. Dot had worked in her younger years as a bookkeeper and had enjoyed being a homemaker. Dot is survived by her sons, Jeff McNatt of Lawrenceburg, TN and Kevin McNatt Kathy of Nashville, TN; stepsons, Charles D. Higgins, Jr. Shelia of Bell Buckle and Richard K. Higgins Becky of Murfreesboro; one brother, Bill Alexander of Nashville and one sister, Joan Collins of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Grace McNatt of Memphis, Lille McNatt of Nashville, Scott Jones Rebecca of Shelbyville and Rich Higgins Brittany of Murfreesboro; 3 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Dot was also preceded in death by a brother, Stan Alexander.
