Mr. Earl Leroy Irwin, age 74 of Spring Hill, passed away Monday, January 2, 2012 at Williamson Medical Center. Mr. Irwin was born on February 25, 1937 to the late Lorin and Gladys Newman Irwin in Knoxville, TN. He was a retired conductor with the railroad. Mr. Irwin was a very avid runner, and he was the first man east of the Mississippi River to run the 100 yard dash under 10 seconds. In addition to his wife Shirley, he leaves behind his children to hold his memory: Russell Darlene Irwin of Knoxville, TN., Michael Stephanie Irwin of Palm City, FL., and Mark Deanna Irwin of Spring Hill, TN; his grandchildren: Chad Chrissy Irwin of Memphis, Whitney Chad King of Mt. Juliet, Amanda, Josh, and Matthew Irwin of Palm City, FL., Jessica, Ashley, and Kristin Irwin of Spring Hill; and five great grandchildren. The family will follow Mr. Irwin’s wishes, and release him to the sea at a later date after Private services at the Irwin Home Saturday, January 7, 2011 at 7:30 P.M.
