Edith Spencer Jackson, born November 12, 1934, passed to be with her Lord and Savior on May 7, 2014. She was the loving Mother to Richard Jackson and his wife, Linda, and loved her grandchildren, Alex and Amanda Jackson with all of her heart. Born in Perry, NY, Edith was the daughter of Robert and Gladyce Spencer. She was a Veteran of the USAF and recipient of the National Defense Service Medal, a member of the DAV, and a proud homemaker. In addition to her devotion to God, country and family, Edith’s interests included crocheting, working crossword puzzles and bird watching. She is preceded in death by her oldest son, Kim, and is survived by her sister Frieda Bob Moore; nieces Tammy Slewitzke and Robin Arnold; brother Volney Spencer; nephews James and Volney Jr., and niece Peggy; and former husband Jack Jackson. There will be a private ceremony for family at the Tennessee Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations would be graciously accepted in her name by the Disabled American Veterans www.dav.org or Hospice.
