Fay Hazen, 79, passed away peacefully in his home in Columbia, Tennessee, on August 25, 2024. Born on August 17, 1945, in Massena, New York, to the late Seward and Helen Hazen. Fay was known for his kindness, generosity, and love for the outdoors.
An avid hunter, Fay took great pride in making his own deer jerky and sausage, which he often shared with friends and family. He was a friendly neighbor, always willing to lend a hand, whether it was helping to renovate his own home or assisting others with their projects. Fay’s skill as a handyman was matched only by his warmth and willingness to help those around him.
During his years in New York, Fay and his wife Dianne enjoyed the thrill of riding snowmobiles through the snowy landscapes, a favorite pastime that brought them closer together. Above all, Fay was a devoted family man. He was the best papa his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren could ask for, always present to support his grandchildren in their endeavors, especially when it came to cheering them on at their baseball games.
Fay is survived by his loving wife, Dianne Hazen; his children, Seth (Joni) Hazen and Lacey J. Hazen; his grandchildren, Scott (Haley), Caleb (Shenoah), Gunnar, Ben, Jordan (Campbell), McCord, and Brooks; and his great-grandchildren, Libby, Faith, Briggs, Jaiden, Rowen, Deluca, and Lelan. He is preceded in death by his parents, his son, Chris Hazen, and his three cherished dogs.
Fay will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his legacy of kindness, love, and devotion will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
