Jack Willard Scharrer

Mr. Jack Willard Scharrer, age 74, resident of Taylor Road in Columbia, passed away on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at his residence. Born on January 24, 1937 in Flint, Michigan, he was the son of the late Ovid and Mary Elizabeth Kaploch Scharrer. Jack was the husband of Sue Stone Scharrer of Columbia. He was a veteran having served in the Marines. He loved fishing and was an avid fisherman. Jack was a retired foreman with General Motors. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Christopher Scharrer of Chelsea, Michigan, Randy Scharrer of Aripeka, Florida and Jody Scharrer of Easley, South Carolina; a step-son, Brian Stone of San Antonio, Texas; step-daughter, Janet Stone of Columbia; his siblings, Barbara Johnson, Carol Lee Jones and Evelyn Leech all of Burton, Michigan, Kenneth Scharrer of Flint, Michigan and Michael Scharrer of Mt. Morris, Michigan; and 8 grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Fredrick Scharrer.
