It is with heavy hearts and deep sorrow that we announce the unexpected passing of Jolene Marie Hammons, on December 20, 2024, at the age of 54. Jolene was born on March 25, 1970, and was taken from us far too soon. Her passing is a devastating loss to all who knew and loved her.
Jolene was a woman of extraordinary strength and character, always pushing herself to new heights. She had an unrelenting drive to challenge herself and prove her capabilities, which she often did in remarkable ways. An avid participant in Spartan races, Jolene embraced every challenge with a fierce determination, never backing down from anything that tested her physical and mental limits. Whether it was racing through obstacles or playing the sport she loved—hockey—Jolene brought intensity, passion, and a competitive spirit to everything she did.
Beyond her athletic pursuits, Jolene, a certified badass, loved the thrill of riding motorcycles, a true embodiment of freedom and adventure. She was a deft hand with woodworking, creating beautiful, intricate pieces with patience and focus, qualities that also defined her approach to life.
Jolene was not always easy to handle, but those who knew her understood the fire that burned within her. She was bold, unapologetically herself, and a great deal of fun to be around. Her strength, humor, and stubbornness will be missed more than words can say.
Jolene was the loving mother of her son and daughter Dakota Nowak and Megan Nowak, who were her pride and joy. She is also survived by her cousins Remy Braun and Nicholas Singer Jr., who were close to her heart.
A private memorial will be held at a later date to honor her life, and the family asks for privacy during this difficult time.
Jolene will be remembered as a fierce and loving woman who lived life on her terms. Her legacy of strength, courage, and passion will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.
