Karen Sue Barden

Karen Sue Barden, age 65, from Jackson, Tennessee, passed away at home on October 8, 2019. Karen was born on December 31, 1953 in Dayton, Ohio, to David and Pauline Evans.

Karen worked for General Motors in Michigan and then moved to Columbia, Tennessee to help open the Saturn plant. She loved to quilt, and often made special quilts for others. She loved the outdoors, and animals, but had a special place in her heart for her pet dogs – Zack, Zoe, Zuzu, and Zeb.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Patrick Barden, and her son Jason Smith. She is survived by her granddaughter, Kaydence Smith, brother, David Evans, sister, Pattie Burns (Tim), Mother of her granddaughter , Keely Witherspoon, stepchildren, Sythinia Collins (Jimmy), Chad Smith (Shirlynn), and nephews Joel Evans (Kirstynn), Daniel Evans (AnnMarie), Joshua Burns, and Jonathan Burns (Jennifer).

Per her request, there will not be a memorial service. Any memorial contributions should be made to the Service Dog Project.
