Kathy Sweeney Hasty, of Lewisburg, TN, passed peacefully in her home on April 27, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on August 21, 1950, Kathy lived a life filled with love, laughter, and devotion to those she cherished most.
Kathy was a devoted and loving wife to her husband, Hugh Hasty, with whom she shared a beautiful partnership built on mutual respect and unwavering support. Together, they created a warm and welcoming home that was a sanctuary for their family.
As a mother, Kathy was a guiding light to her three children: Karen Pendergrass (Henry Pendergrass), Allison Hasty, and Adam Hasty (Tabatha Hasty). She poured her heart into raising them, instilling in them the values of kindness, resilience, and the importance of family bonds. Her love extended to her six cherished grandchildren: Allyson Pendergrass, Kathryn Pendergrass, Kallie Hasty, Emmah Hasty, Aubrey Gilliam, and William Gilliam, who brought her immense joy and pride. Her loving sister, Debbie Sweeney Allen, was a source of joy and laughter for Kathy over the years. Kathy deeply loved her nieces and nephews whose children were a great source of joy as well. Kathy treasured every moment spent with all, celebrating their milestones and creating lasting memories that will be cherished forever.
Kathy's warmth and compassion touched the lives of many. She was a friend to all, always ready to lend a helping hand or offer a listening ear. Her generous spirit and infectious laughter will be remembered fondly by those who had the privilege of knowing her.
Kathy is preceded in death my her father, Aubrey Cannon Sweeney, Jr., and mother, Malvena Moore Sweeney, of Lewisburg, and brother-in-law Alexander Allen of Caney Spring.
A celebration of Kathy's life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to honor her memory and share stories of the love and joy she brought into their lives. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Kathy's name, reflecting her caring nature and commitment to helping others.
