Lawrence "Larry" R. Cobb, age 71, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2025, at Maury Regional Medical Center. Larry was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend who touched the lives of so many with his kindness, humor, and unwavering dedication to his community.
Larry is survived by his loving wife, Theresa Cobb, and his children: Cassandra Cobb, Rebecca (Scott) Adams, Eric Thomas (Chris) Cobb, Charles Olson, Jordan (Derek) Saxton, and Sonja Rae Maglothin. He also leaves behind his brothers: John (Linda) Cobb, Len Cobb, and Wayne (Theresa) Cobb, as well as many cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Doris Cobb, his older sister, Deborah McKenzie, and Crystal Marie Olson.
Larry had a lifelong passion for Little League baseball, dedicating 50 years to mentoring young players as a player, a coach and an umpire. His love for the game and commitment to helping young people develop their skills and confidence left an enduring mark on his community. Whether calling balls and strikes or offering words of encouragement, Larry's presence on the field was a constant source of inspiration.
Known for his warm and outgoing personality, Larry never met a stranger. He had a gift for conversation and could strike up a chat with anyone, making friends wherever he went. He was also an avid football fan, cheering passionately for both the Detroit Lions and Detroit Tigers.
In honor of Larry's lifelong dedication to youth sports, the family asks that memorial contributions be directed to Little League Baseball, Inc., ATTN: Philanthropy and Social Impact Dept., PO Box 3485, 539 US Route 15 Hwy, Williamsport, PA 17701-0485.
Larry's life was a testament to love, community, and service. His memory will continue to live on through the countless lives he touched, and his legacy will be felt in every crack of the bat and cheer from the stands.
A celebration of life will be planned at a later date.
Cremation Society of Tennessee is assisting the family with arrangements.
