Mr. Lem Oliver Rogers

Lem Oliver Rogers was born August 17, 1930, in Southern Indiana to John Oliver Rogers and Pearl Riddle Rogers. His older sister was Hazel Kathleen Rogers Jordan, nicknamed Suge by family and friends. Lem died December 22, 2020, from COVID-19. His 90 years were packed with much joy and love. Lem became a Christian after “Uncle Sam called”. His first church to serve was in the Christ of Christ in Seoul, Korea.

Lem later trained in Ministry at Florida Christian College in Tampa, Florida, where he met and married Jean Fay Holzheimer, the love of his life, on June 11, 1954. A year later, Deb (now Mrs. Gary Holloway) was born; three years later, Gwen (now widow to Mr. Rush Clifford) was born; eight years later, Sandy (now Mrs. Mike Nonnenmacher) was born. His grandchildren are Katie Clifford, Sabre Clifford, Adam Nonnenmacher, and Nick Nonnenmacher. Lem’s great-grandchild is Mariah Clifford.

Lem preached for Churches of Christ for over fifty years. He served congregations in NC, IA, FL, TN, and TX. His special interests included photography, reading, and nature studies.
