Leslie Margaret Crowder, 57, passed away on June 21, 2024, after a battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband Stuart Merrill, sons Lyle and Will, mother Lassie McDonald Crowder, brother Drew Crowder, niece Rowan Crowder, several extended family members and many friends.
Leslie had a deep appreciation for history, genealogy, beautiful architecture, and antiques. She was passionate about native gardening, care of the environment and wildlife. A gifted vocalist, she performed with the Nashville Symphony Chorus and the Franklin Community Chorus. Additionally, she amassed an impressive personal library along with her husband Stuart who shared her love of literature.
Leslie's life was a testament to the values of education, compassion, and dedication. She pursued her passion for helping others by earning a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor. In recent years, she served as a School Counselor in Wilson and Maury County schools, with her latest posting in the Rutherford County School System at the Eagleville School. Her empathy and wisdom guided many through life's challenges, leaving a lasting impact on those she counseled.
A service to honor Leslie’s life will be held at Calvary United Methodist Church in Nashville, TN on July 27th, 2024, at 11:00. Her memory will be cherished by those who knew her.
