Wochomurka, Lois Winslow Merritt – Age 84 of Brentwood, TN, was born again to our Lord on Friday, December 14, 2012, on a beautiful bright and sunny Tennessee winter morning. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Charles Franklin Wochomurka Jr.; her sons, Charles “Chip” Franklin Wochomurka III Jayne of Franklin, TN, and Allan Ramsay Wochomurka of Portland, ME; her daughter, Elizabeth Wochomurka Baugh Mark of Piperton, TN; 9 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Mary Elizabeth Peterson Walter of Naples, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. and Mrs. Edward Lester Merritt of Fall River, MA; and her sister, Mrs. Virginia Child of Bethesda, MD. Lois was born in Fall River, MA, in 1928. She earned her BA in June, 1949, from the Rhode Island School of Design and married later that month. Lois and Charlie enjoyed over 63 years of devotion and adventure ~ living in New York Levittown, Massachusetts East Chop, Martha’s Vineyard, Connecticut West Willington and Weston, Tennessee Brentwood, Knoxville, Tullahoma, Germantown, and Collierville, and Florida Destin ~ and traveling frequently. She was an avid reader and cook. A memorial service will be held on January 5, 2013, at The First United Church UCC at 3410 Granny White Pike in Nashville, TN, at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated by the family.
