Bruce Bade, age 71, passed away on January 14, 2021, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN.
Bruce was born on August 20, 1949, in Peoria, IL to his late parents Edward Louis and Martha Jade Jarrett Bade.
At the young age of 17, Bruce served in the Marine Corps for six years, working his way up to Corporal. He also became a ham operator (KB9KP). Later as an adult, he started some of his own businesses and then moved on to working as a computer technician at USDA in Illinois. Bruce having such a strong passion for duty, returned and served in the Air Force Reserve for 17 years. Bruce knew the ins and outs of C-130s; flying them and being a loadmaster and held his post until retirement.
In his leisure time, you could find Bruce outside enjoying a game of golf or being on the water fishing and boating. Bruce and his wife, Christine, loved the water life and spent a little over a year boating The Great Loop seeing all the lovely sights until completion in 2011. They share beautiful memories from traveling to many different countries and being mesmerized by landscapes in Costa Rica and Belize, just to name a few. They were both former members of the Indian Oaks Country Club in Hinckley, Illinois, and are currently members of Graymere Country Club in Columbia. Bruce has been a lifetime member of the American Legion, VFW, and AMVETS.
Bruce is preceded in death by his parents. Bruce is survived by his loving wife, Christine Bade; daughter, Shannon Bade of Minnesota; sister, Lynn (Robert) Sandifur; nieces: Kara Sandifur and Kellee (Jose) Granados.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to COVID-19 Research at Vanderbilt.
