Rosemary P. Jackson, age 91 passed away Wednesday evening. Rosemary was the wife of William Brown Jackson for 58 years until his death on June 1, 2001. The oldest child of Harry W. and Mary M.P. Pipkin, She spent her youth moving around Tennessee with her family, attending twelve schools in twelve years, beginning in Johnson City, TN. She attended David Lipscomb College and received a Bachelors degree from the University of TN. Rosemary was a life long Christian and active member of the Girl Scouts of America GSA. She was always eager to share her scouting experience with young girl scouts and convey her devotion to the mission of the GSA. In 2007, she was recognized as the oldest and longest living member of the GSA. Rosemary had a love for needlework and crafted over 100 needlepoint tapestries replicating various fine art works comprising a unique portfolio worthy of the attention of collectors. She was the mother of two children: Rosemary Jackson Bell who preceded her mother in death passing October 12, 2000, and William B. “Talon” Jackson Jr,. who survives her. Also Survived by her grandsons: Nathan Jackson Bell and Stefan Jackson Bell. Two sisters: Lyndell Thompson, and Carolyn Norman, and numerous nieces and nephews. A burial service will be conducted at the Pipkin family plot in the Yorkville Cemetery in Yorkville, TN at 1pm, Wednesday November 16, 2011. The Cremation Society of Tennessee is assisting with Arrangements.
