Sadie Lorene Long Lanham, age 94, of Spring Hill, passed away at her residence on Friday, November 27, 2015.
Lorene was the daughter of James Alford Long and Flora Ann Cochran Long and was born on July 3, 1921 in Clay County, Arkansas. At the age of 16 she married the love of her life, Noble Wayne Lanham and they were married for 63 years until his passing on March 2, 2001. She was a loving housewife and mother. She had a great sense of humor which her children inherited from her, and she had a beautiful smile. In addition to her work inside the family home, she worked outside the home in manufacturing, and additionally for fifteen years at the state hospital. She was of the Church of Christ faith.
Lorene is survived by her children: Darlene Edwards of Spring Hill, Tennessee and Dwight Lanham of Franklin; and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents: James Alford Long and Flora Ann Cochran Long; and children: Dewayne Lanham, Darrell Lanham and Charles Lanham.
The family will celebrate Mrs. Lanham’s life with a memorial service at Spring Hill Church of Christ on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. with Craig Evans officiating. The family will visit with friends from 1:00 p.m. until time for the service at 2:00 p.m. also at the church.
