Sarah Cecilia Johnson Carden

Carden, Sarah Cecelia Johnson of Hendersonville, TN died at age 101 on April 20. She was preceded in death by father, William John Johnson; mother, Jennie May Wherry Johnson; husband, John Lewis Carden; and five siblings. She is survived by her sister, Susan Ann Johnson Brockett; son, John Lewis Carden, Jr. Semra; daughter, Mary Lu Carden Batey Charles; grandson, Charles Trent Batey Carrie; grandson, Benjamin Lewis Batey Melodye; granddaughter, Sarah Marie Batey Ice Chad; granddaughter, Kate Carden Batey Melby Joel; four great grandchildren, Avery Cecelia and Robert Lewis Batey of Hendersonville, Charles Augustus Batey of Hendersonville, and Calvin Yosef Ice of Nashville. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She was a charter member of the Madison Circle of King’s Daughters and a founding member of the King’s Daughters Day Home. She was a lifetime member of the Presbyterian Church. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 29 at the First Presbyterian Church of Hendersonville. Services begin at 5:00 preceded by an hour of visitation with the family. The Rev. Michael Davis will officiate.
