Sheryl Ellen Reece, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on February 17, 2025, at the age of 75. Born on January 25, 1950, she was raised in Oceanside, California, by her mother and stepfather, Anita and James Williams. Her siblings included Alan, Laurel, Ronald, Joanne, and Sandra. Sheryl was close to her maternal grandparents, Joseph and Ethel Kistler, who lived nearby.
Sheryl was known for her kind and joyful spirit, always wanting to help anyone in need. She was a committed Christian who rested in the work of Jesus for her.
Sheryl loved sports and was recognized as "Most Athletic" in high school, excelling in every sport she tried with a competitive yet lighthearted nature. She went on to earn a Master’s degree in Education from Biola University. She dedicated her career to teaching and tutoring, leaving a lasting impact on countless students at Victory Christian and Tri-City Christian School until her retirement.
Sheryl found joy in the simple pleasures of life—walking with friends around the neighborhood and along the beach, tending to her garden, and immersing herself in a good book. However, her greatest joy was being a devoted grandmother to her five beloved grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughters and their families: Susan, her eldest, and her husband, Patrick Crandall, along with their children, Caiden and Ryleigh, of Columbia, Tennessee and Sandi, her youngest, and her husband, Jimmy Roth, with their children, Kaylee, Maggie, and Casey, of Kingwood, Texas.
A memorial service for Sheryl will be held on March 8, 2025, at Zion Presbyterian Church in Columbia, Tennessee.
Sheryl’s legacy of love, faith, and kindness will live on in the hearts of those who knew her. She will be deeply missed but joyfully remembered.
