Willis M. Meadows, born May 5, 1918, passed away peacefully Sunday, January 4, 2015 at her home in Nashville. Willis was a lifelong resident of Nashville. During WWII, she worked at Vultee Aircraft. After the war she enjoyed two professional careers, one with Bell South Telephone, where she was a representative of the “Communication Workers of America.” After retiring from Bell South, she was with the Metro City of Nashville as their Communications Supervisor. Willis enjoyed politics and was invited to two Inaugural Balls in Washington, D.C. Willis was the last survivor of eight children and is survived by many nieces and nephews. She was truly part of America’s greatest generation and will be missed by all who knew her. After cremation, there will be a private burial at Woodlawn Cemetery. There will be a celebration of her life, for friends and family at the Gearon residence at 1:00 p.m. on January 24, 2015. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
